Summer Internship'22 (II)

A Journey with Kilchu Crafts (Summer'22)
Part II
Over my six-week summer internship at Kilchu Crafts in 2022, I played a pivotal role in creating a database for handwoven fabrics for summers. This experience was a dynamic exploration of textiles, bringing a fresh perspective to the studio's creative process
Mood 1: Picture a breezy summer day, where the air feels light and refreshing. The pastel colour palette paints the scene with soft blues, gentle pinks, and muted greens, creating a calm and dreamy vibe. It's like walking through a tranquil garden, with delicate flowers adding a touch of elegance. The atmosphere is carefree, inviting you to soak in the easygoing spirit of the season.

Mood 2:  A vibrant and eclectic summer, where spontaneity and playfulness rule the day. The dynamic energy is reflected in a bright colour palette—bold reds, electric blues, and lively yellows. It's a season filled with lively chaos, like an ever-changing canvas of fun and excitement. There are spontaneous adventures, bursts of laughter, and a sense of vibrant movement in the air. This summer is a celebration of the joyous, the unexpected, and the lively.

Engineered fabric colourways
In the summer, the use of Jamdani fabrics adds a touch of ethereal elegance and breathability to your wardrobe. The airy and lightweight texture of Jamdani, with its intricate handwoven patterns, becomes a canvas for capturing the essence of the season. The fabric seamlessly blends comfort with style, making it ideal for warm weather.
The objective was to design fabrics featuring Jamdani motifs using basic shapes and explore diverse placements, which could allow them to grace the entire garment or contribute to the creation of engineered looks.
